BLOOMSBURG, Pa. - The Bloomsburg University men's soccer team dropped a tight Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) match to visiting Shippensburg 1-0 on Wednesday night (Oct. 4).
 
The teams played 45 minutes scoreless, with Bloomsburg leading in the shot category 5-2 at the break. The Huskies cranked up the offensive pressure in the second half, out-shooting the Raiders 8-2. The two teams went to the extra session, where Shippensburg held the advantage in shots 2-1. The teams would require more time to settle the scoreless draw, and got ready for another 10 minutes.
 
Shortly into the extra session, Bloomsburg was called for an infraction in their own end outside the box. A Shippensburg free kick was sent in from 30 yards out, and knocked around before finding the foot of Cole Kropnick. Kropnick stashed home his ninth of the season just 1:37 into the second overtime to give the Raiders the road win.
 
Austin Transue (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) paced Bloomsburg's offense with five shots in the contest, putting two on frame. Brian Kilcoyne (Bensalem, Pa./Bensalem) and Tyler Medeira each recorded two shots, putting one on frame. Five other Huskies registered shots in the contest. Taylor Lesage (Collegeville, Pa./Methacton) made two saves in the loss.
 
The Huskies will hit the road on Saturday (Oct. 7) when they travel to Slippery Rock for more PSAC action. Kickoff is slated for 6:30 p.m.
