The Huskies (5-5, 1-2 PSAC) will enter Saturday's contest ranked ninth according to the latest Penn Monto/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division II Coaches Poll released on Tuesday afternoon. Bloomsburg will be looking to snap a modest two-game losing streak as it has suffered a pair of one-goal losses to then-#2 (now-#1) Shippensburg and #2 East Stroudsburg this past Saturday and Tuesday respectively. Tuesday's loss to the Warriors was decided in overtime.

Mercyhurst, meanwhile, will come in with an identical 5-5 overall record and 1-2 mark in conference action. The Lakers have won three of their last four, including a 2-0 win over Mansfield for their first conference win of the season.

The two teams met in Erie back on September 16 with Bloomsburg coming away with a 2-0 victory. Senior MacKenna Mahan (Selinsgrove, Pa./Selinsgrove Area) and junior Abby Sauder (Mount Joy, Pa./Donegal) each scored second-half goals for the Huskies while freshman Dana Sheply (Maple Shade, N.J./Maple Shade) earned her first career shutout with three saves.
