Shippensburg, Pa. - The Bloomsburg University women's basketball team saw its' 2016-17 campaign come to an end with a 60-44 loss in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Quarterfinals at Shippensburg on Wednesday evening.
With the loss, the Huskies end their season with a record 11-17, (9-13 PSAC). The Raiders move to 24-5 (18-4 PSAC) overall, and will host IUP in the PSAC Semifinals on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.

The Raiders jumped out to a 9-2 lead thanks to early baskets from Morgan Griffith and Steph Knauer. The Shippensburg defense would stifle the Huskies early and often throughout the quarter, causing many tough shots and turnovers. The Raiders would lead, 19-2, heading into the second period of play.
Ross and Klunk would get Bloomsburg going in the second quarter, as the Huskies would win the quarter, 13-11, and trail, 30-15 at halftime.
Bloomsburg came out firing to start the third quarter, using crisp ball movement to cut the Shippensburg lead to 39-30 with 4:42 to play in the period. In those opening minutes, the Huskies embarked on a 15-9 run, thanks to two three-pointers from Taylor Sneidman (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley), as well as baskets from Klunk, Ross, Taylor Montana (Berwick, Pa./Berwick) and Marissa Molnar (Erie, Pa./McDowell).
The top seed in the Eastern Division would compose itself however, and use a 10-3 run to head into the final quarter with a 49-33 advantage. The Raiders out-shot the Huskies, 39.1%-30.9%, and worked their way to 34 free throw attempts, compared to just nine for Bloomsburg.
The Raiders would not relent on their lead in the fourth quarter, as Bloomsburg could not get any closer than 14 points. Ross would foul out with 5:11 to play, in her final appearance as a Husky. Four minutes later, Klunk would sub out for the final time in her Bloomsburg career.
The two seniors wrap up their career with a 76-41 career record, including two PSAC East Division titles, and two trips to the NCAA Regional Final.
