Bloomsburg, Pa. – The Bloomsburg University women's lacrosse team ended its' regular season with a hard-fought 14-12 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) win over Kutztown University on Wednesday afternoon. With the win, the Huskies move to 9-7 (6-6 PSAC), while the Golden Bears drop to 7-9 (3-8 PSAC) on the season.

Senior Brigid Kyne (Broomall, Pa./Marple Newtown) led the way for Bloomsburg with four goals and an assist, while junior Taylor Turner (Corning, N.Y./Corning West) and freshman Cailyn Gormley (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) each tallied two goals and an assist.

GAME RECAP
Tracy Rusen (Martinsville, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan) opened the scoring after taking a feed from Kyne just 1:36 in to the contest and putting it past the goalie. Sydney Collins (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) followed with a score less than two minutes later off of an assist from Tori Wigand (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks South).

The two teams would trade scores for the next 10 minutes, until the Huskies, leading 3-2, rattled off four consecutive goals (Kyne, Turner, Nikki Fisher (Warminster, Pa./Gwynedd Mercy Academy ), Gormley) in a five-minute span to take a commanding 7-2 lead with 10:29 left in the first half.

The Golden Bears responded with two goals to cut their deficit in half, but Hannah Jaskuta (Gilbertsville, Pa./Boyertown Area) found the back of the net on a free position shot with 3:54 left in the half to make it an 8-4 game.

Each team would score once more before the break, as Bloomsburg led, 9-5, at the intermission.

Kyne nabbed two more goals out of the break and the Huskies led, 11-6, with 25:52 remaining in the game, but Kutztown would soon answer in a big way. The Golden Bears recorded the net four goals, including two by Sarah Gabriele, to make it just 11-10 in favor of Bloomsburg wit 21:47 remaining.

Wigand nabbed her fourth goal of the season shortly after the Kutztown run, but the Golden Bears answered the bell each of the next two Bloomsburg scores and the Huskies led, 13-12, with 8:17 left in the game.

The two lineups traded shots but were turned away both goaltenders, as Angela DiPasquale (Paramus, N.J./Paramus) made a total 13 saves, while Abby Cox tallied 12 stops of her own for Kutztown.

The Huskies held possession of the ball for most the remaining minutes, killing much of the clock, and any chance for a tying goal from the Golden Bears. Finally, the Erin Boulger (Coatesville, Pa./Coatesville Area) put the exclamation point on the win as she found the back of the net with two seconds left.

The nine wins for Bloomsburg are the most since it tallied nine victories in the 2014 season.
