STORYLINE
The Bloomsburg University field hockey team hosts Shippensburg University in an important PSAC match at Steph Pettit Stadium on Saturday morning. The Huskies enter the contest in a tie for eighth in the conference standings with a 1-3 league record while the Raiders are 3-2 in conference play, good for fourth in the standings. This marks the fifth ranked opponent the Huskies have played this season with three coming in the last four contests.
Â
ALL-TIME SERIES
Bloomsburg leads the all-time series, 45-21-1, but the Raiders have narrowed the gap as they have defeated the Huskies in nine of the last ten meetings. Each of the last four games have been decided by one goal with three of those being decided in overtime or in a shootout. Last season, Shippensburg won a pair of 3-2 games against Bloomsburg with the non-conference match on September 9, 2017, ending in an extra session.

SCOUTING BLOOMSBURG
Bloomsburg, ninth in the latest Penn Monto/NFHCA Division II Coaches Poll, is coming off of a 4-0 loss at top-ranked West Chester on Wednesday afternoon in a game that was scoreless at halftime. Sophomore goalkeeper
Dana Sheply (Maple Shade, N.J./Maple Shade) stopped a season-high ten shots in the loss. The Huskies went 1-1 last week as they split a pair of matches against East Stroudsburg and IUP. After a 3-0 loss to the second-ranked Warriors, Bloomsburg rebounded for a 2-1 overtime victory against the Crimson Hawks last Saturday evening for its first PSAC win of the year. Junior
Ali McKay (Dover, Del./Polytech) scored her second goal of the year early in the second half to tie the contest and senior
Tali Wehner (Bloomsburg, Pa./Bloomsburg) notched her first marker of the year with 1:58 left in the first overtime to win it for the Huskies. Junior
Tesa Hoffman (Freeburg, Pa./Selinsgrove Area) leads the Huskies in scoring with career-highs in goals (5), assists (5), and points (15). She is tied for third in the PSAC in assists while ranking eighth in points per game (1.36). Senior
Erica Krebs (Bloomsburg, Pa./Central Columbia) has also established career-bests in goals (5), assists (3), and points (13) this season.
Ali McKay (Dover, Del./Polytech) is third on the team with two goals and three assists for seven points. A dozen other players have at least one point on the season - ten of those with at least one goal - to help a balanced scoring attack. In goal, Sheply and fellow sophomore
Hannah Barnard (Vestal, N.Y./Vestal) have split time in goal. Barnard started the first five and is 4-1 with a 1.14 goals against average and an .824 save percentage. Sheply has started the last six and is 3-3 with a 1.47 goals against average and an .804 save percentage. Both are tied for third in the league with two shutouts apiece while Sheply leads the conference in save percentage and ranks fourth in saves per game (6.17).
