STORYLINE
The Bloomsburg University field hockey team hosts Mansfield University in a crucial PSAC match for both teams, but for different reasons. The Huskies have lost three of their last four and find themselves on the outside looking in at the playoff picture as Bloomsburg is 1-4 in league play - 1.5 games behind Kutztown which currently has the sixth, and final, playoff spot. Mansfield, meanwhile, is 4-1 and looks to strengthen its PSAC postseason chances.

ALL-TIME SERIES
Bloomsburg leads the all-time series against Mansfield, 48-3-1. Last season, the teams split a pair of one-goal games with each team winning on the road.
Willow Perkins (Bloomsburg, Pa./Central Columbia) scored the lone goal for the Huskies in the win on October 11, 2017 while Larissa Motts scored just over 10 minutes into the first overtime in Mansfield's win on September 20, 2017.

SCOUTING BLOOMSBURG
Bloomsburg is eighth in the league with a 7-5 overall record and a 1-4 mark in league play - 1.5 games behind Kutztown which occupies the sixth, and final, playoff spot. The Huskies are coming off of a 2-0 loss against fifth-ranked Shippensburg on Saturday morning - their second consecutive loss and third in the last four games. Sophomore
Dana Sheply (Maple Shade, N.J./Maple Shade) allowed two goals and stopped six shots in 50:40 of action to fall to 3-4 on the season. Sophomore
Hannah Barnard (Vestal, N.Y./Vestal) played the final 19:20 and did not see a shot. Despite the loss, the Huskies outshot the Raiders, 18-11 and held a 9-8 edge in penalty corners. Junior
Tesa Hoffman (Freeburg, Pa./Selinsgrove Area) leads the Huskies in scoring with career-highs in goals (5), assists (5), and points (15). She is tied for sixth in the PSAC in assists. Senior
Erica Krebs (Bloomsburg, Pa./Central Columbia) has also established career-bests in goals (5), assists (3), and points (13) this season. Junior
Ali McKay (Dover, Del./Polytech) is third on the team with two goals and three assists for seven points. A dozen other players have at least one point on the season - ten of those with at least one goal - to help a balanced scoring attack. In goal, Sheply and Barnard have split time. Barnard started the first five contests and is 4-1 with a 1.08 goals against average and an .824 save percentage. She leads the PSAC in save percentage and is tied for third in the league in shutouts with two. Sheply has started the last seven and is 3-4 with a 1.61 goals against average and a .796 save percentage. She ranks third in the league in save percentage, is tied for third in shutouts with two, and is fourth in saves per game (6.14).

SCOUTING MANSFIELD
Mansfield has won three straight and four of its last five matches as it enters with an 8-5 overall record and a 4-1 mark in league play. The Mountaineers are third in the PSAC standings - 1.5 games behind West Chester and East Stroudsburg which are tied for first with perfect 6-0 records. Mansfield, most recently, earned a 3-2 home victory over IUP last Wednesday, October 17. The Mountaineers trailed 2-1 with just over five minutes remaining before Christie Buyer scored to tie the match at 2-2 and then Dana Evans scored with four seconds left in regulation to complete the comeback. Larissa Motts leads the team in scoring with six goals and four assists for 16 points. She, and Evans (six goals, three assists) are tied for 10th in the league in goals. Evans has 15 points on the year and ranks second on the team. Buyer is also in double figures with five goals and four assists for 14 points. In goal, Brittany Ryan is 8-5 with a 1.67 goals against average and a .798 save percentage. She is tied for third in the league with two shutouts and ranks second in the PSAC in save percentage, sixth in goals against average, and third in saves per game (6.69).
