STORYLINE
The Bloomsburg University women's basketball team will play at the Nelson Field House for the first time this season when it hosts Pitt-Johnstown in a non-conference game on Saturday afternoon. The Huskies are coming off of their first loss of the season while the Mountain Cats have won three straight to start the year.
 
ALL-TIME SERIES
The Huskies are just 4-11 lifetime against Pitt-Johnstown which includes a 63-52 road loss against the Mountain Cats last season. In last year's 11-point loss, Taylor Montana (Berwick, Pa./Berwick) led three Huskies in double figures with 16 points while also pulling down seven rebounds. Olivia McCabe paced Pitt-Johnstown with 23 points and 15 rebounds.
 
SCOUTING BLOOMSBURG
After opening the regular season last weekend at the PSAC/CIAA Challenge with victories over Fayetteville State and Lincoln (Pa.) at Kutztown University, the Huskies suffered their first loss of the season on Wednesday evening with a 73-46 setback at fifth-ranked IUP. Sophomore Emma Saxton (York, Pa./Central York) was the only Huskies' player in double figures as she finished with 13 points to go along with four rebounds and three assists. Senior Marissa Molnar (Erie, Pa./McDowell) added nine points - all coming on three-pointers - while junior Bella Ricci (Etters, Pa./Red Land) also chipped in with nine points, four rebounds, and three assists. Sophomore Darcy Lee (Altoona, Pa./Bishop Guilfoyle) led the Huskies with six rebounds to go along with six points in 23 minutes off the bench. Junior Taylor Montana (Berwick, Pa./Berwick), the reigning PSAC East Athlete of the Week, leads the Huskies in scoring at 11.3 points per game while ranking third on the team in rebounding at 5.0 boards per contest. Senior Alyssa Mack (Walnutport, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic) averages 11.0 points per game while Saxton is also in double figures at 10.7 points per contest. Lee leads the Huskies in rebounding as she pulls down 9.0 board per game. She is tied for seventh in the PSAC in that category. Similar to last season, Bloomsburg is last in the league in scoring offense (56.3 ppg) but is fourth in the conference in scoring defense (57.0 ppg).

SCOUTING PITT-JOHNSTOWN
Pitt-Johnstown is off to a 3-0 start to the season after earning victories over Shaw (80-65) and Winston-Salem State (64-52) at the 2018 Tip-Off Tournament, hosted by Shepherd University, on November 9 and 10. The Mountain Cats then defeated West Virginia Wesleyan, 70-63, on Wednesday evening. The Mountain Cats opened the year with an 85-78 exhibition loss at Division I St. Francis. Pitt-Johnstown turned the ball over 32 times in the loss but got 25 points and nine rebounds from Gabrielle Smith. Alli McGrath (18 points) and Tori Moreland (15 points) were also in double figures. McGrath leads the team in scoring at 21.3 points per game while Smith averages 20.7 points and 9.3 rebounds through three games. Nicole Olkosky missed Wednesday's game but averaged 15.0 points and 12.5 rebounds over the opening weekend. Olkosky also blocked 11 shots in the two games. Pitt-Johnstown is shooting 81.1% from the foul line on the year with Smith making 30 of the team's 60 foul shots through three games. Smith is 30-of-35 (85.7%) from the charity stripe early on.

Bloomsburg will be back on the road on Tuesday, November 20, when it heads to Holy Family University. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
