BLOOMSBURG, Pa. - The Bloomsburg University women's volleyball team lost in straight sets to visiting Pitt-Johnstown on Friday night at the Nelson Field House - 25-20, 25-20, 25-17 - as the Huskies honored a pair of seniors prior to the start of the match. Bloomsburg dropped to 6-21 overall and 2-15 in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Central Division while the Mountain Cats improved to 17-12 overall and 11-6 in the Central Division standings.

Sarah Gomish (Ebensburg, Pa./Bishop Carroll Catholic) and
Jordann Seasock (Schuylkill Haven, Pa./Blue Mountain) who are suiting up for their final matches this weekend. Gomish played three seasons at Lock Haven before joining the Huskies for her final year. She recorded her 1,000th career kill at California on September 15 and her 1,000th career dig against Mercyhurst on October 26. Seasock was a member of the club volleyball team before joining the varsity program for her senior season.

Mary Kate Mooney (Royersford, Pa./Pope John Paul II) led the Huskies with six kills apiece on Friday night while freshman
Molly Prior (Warminster, Pa./Archbishop Wood) added five kills and led Bloomsburg with a .400 hitting percentage in ten attempts. Freshman
Grace Giza (Plymouth, Pa./Wyoming Valley West) chipped in with four kills, two solo blocks, and three assisted blocks while freshman
Mia Nicholes (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) also had four kills while contributing a pair of assisted blocks.

Bryn Stek (Ambler, Pa./Upper Dublin) posted 23 assists while sophomore
Alyssa Cianciulli (Royersford, Pa./Pope John Paul II) had a match-high 15 digs in the loss.
Bloomsburg had no answer for Pitt-Johnstown's combination of Maura Brehl and Noelle Carota. The duo combined for 35 kills while hitting at a .358 clip. Brehl had 22 kills and six digs while Carota posted 13 kills and five digs to lead the Mountain Cats. J.C. Longeville led the way with 47 assists while Erin Carmody was tops on the team with 13 digs.
The Huskies will conclude the program's inaugural season on Saturday afternoon, November 3, when they host Shippensburg at the Nelson Field House. Start time is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
