BLOOMSBURG, Pa. - The Bloomsburg University athletic department and campus radio station,
WBUQ 91.1 FM, are excited to announce its continued partnership for the upcoming 2018-19 basketball season that will keep the Huskies on the radio airwaves for all men's and women's basketball games.
The agreement will air 53 regular-season home and road basketball contests, as well as any postseason competition, and will allow fans to
listen to games live online. The men's games will be called by Jim Doyle, Hall of Fame voice of the Huskies, while the women's games will feature the play-by-play of long-time women's basketball broadcaster Larry White. Pre-game will begin approximately 15 minutes before the start of each scheduled tip-off time.
"We are pleased to offer Huskies' basketball to the local Bloomsburg community on-air through WBUQ and nationally and internationally through the station's web stream," stated Director of Athletics,
Dr. Michael McFarland. "WBUQ allows us to deliver Bloomsburg Husky basketball on the airwaves to a wide range of listeners and we are fortunate to have Jim Doyle and Larry White cover the teams again this year."
WBUQ is a 600-watt non-commercial, educational radio station operating at FM 91.1 MHz. The student-run radio station provides a means of student training and experience in radio broadcasting, a means of entertainment and information for the student body and community, serves the public interest and is an instrument of expression for student, faculty, and community opinion, as well as home to Bloomsburg University Huskies Basketball, in accordance with the rules of the FCC.
