BLOOMSBURG, Pa. - Travis Elmore (Tobyhanna, Pa./Pocono Mountain West) was one of five Huskies to post double figures, finishing with 15 points and four rebounds, but the Bloomsburg University men's basketball team was unable to mount a second half rally, falling 111-82 to East Stroudsburg in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East action Monday afternoon.

Elmore was a bright spot offensively for the Huskies, shooting 7-of-11 from the field for his team-high 15 points. Bloomsburg had its shooting struggles as a team, however, finishing 24-of-56 (42.9%) from the floor, and 3-of-16 (18.8%) from three-point territory. East Stroudsburg's aggressive defense forced 24 Bloomsburg turnovers in the game, which the Warriors converted into 40 points. East Stroudsburg was dominant around the basket as well, outscoring the Huskies 67-38 in the paint.

The Huskies' trio of talented freshmen handled the Warriors pressure well in the first half, as buckets from Elmore, Sekou Fofana (Upper Darby, Pa./Springfield Commonwealth), and William Melson (Allentown, Pa./Dieruff) would propel Bloomsburg to a 16-9 lead midway through the period. East Stroudsburg would erase the Huskies lead over the next four minutes however, ripping off an 11-2 run to take a 20-19 lead with 7:36 to play in the half. The Warriors would build a lead as large as 14 late in the period, but a bucket from Fofana would trim the East Stroudsburg advantage to 49-38 at the break.

Ky Mauras (Reading, Pa./Reading) led the way for the Huskies in the first half with nine points, while Fofana chipped in seven points. Nick Giordano poured in 17 first-half points on 6-of-9 (3-of-5 from deep) for the Warriors.

East Stroudsburg would break the game open in the second stanza, shooting a blistering 65.9% (27-of-41) from the field en route to 62 points in the half. The Warriors lead would swell to as large as 36 after Jacob Godfrey splashed in 10 points in the span of just 4 minutes and 10 seconds, dashing any hopes of a Bloomsburg comeback.

Giordano paced East Stroudsburg with 22 points, four rebounds, and four assists, while Josh Williams tallied 15 points and eight rebounds. Ryan Smith added 14 points for the Warriors, and Michal Weiss chipped in 12 points. Godfrey was the fifth Warrior to finish in double figures, posting 10 points.

Elmore's 15 points were the high mark for Bloomsburg on the afternoon, while Mauras notched 14 points and four assists. Fofana finished with 13 points, but did have a team-high six turnovers. Nicholas King (Easton, Pa./Freedom) (12 points) and Ethan Houston (Carlisle, Pa./Carlisle) (11 points) also reached double figures for the Huskies.

Bloomsburg completes its three-game home stand this Wednesday, January 23, when the Huskies host Seton Hill. Tip-off with the Griffins is set for 5:30 p.m.
