LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The Bloomsburg women's volleyball team snapped a two-game skid with a 3-0 win over Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Central division opponent, Lock Haven, Tuesday evening. The Huskies improved to a 7-13 on the year and 2-6 in the PSAC while Lock Haven fell to 6-12 for the season and 0-8 in conference play.
After a close 25-21 win in the opening set, the Huskies rolled to a 25-14 win the second and a 25-19 win to close out the match.
Sophomore Mary Kate Mooney (Royersford, Pa./Pope John Paul II) led the Huskies with 11 kills for the match and hit at a .300 clip. Junior Alyssa Cianciulli (Royersford, Pa./Pope John Paul II) posted 15 kills and to service aces for Bloomsburg while Brooke Kratzer (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) handed out 12 assists and Sydney Buell (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) chipped in 10. Kratzer and Buell each had a pair of service aces as well.
As a team, the Huskies hit .198 for the match, including .250 in their 25-14 second set win. Bloomsburg held the advantage in digs (43-34), assists (25-21), aces (9-5), and kills (27-24).
The women's volleyball team comes back home this weekend as the Huskies host University of Pitt.-Johnstown on Friday, October 18 at 7:00 p.m. and IUP on Saturday, October 19 at 12:00 p.m.
