STORYLINE
The Bloomsburg University football will be back on the road this Saturday afternoon when it travels to East Stroudsburg University in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division matchup with the Warriors. The Huskies will be looking to snap a four-game losing skid while East Stroudsburg enters the contest with a 5-1 (2-1 PSAC) overall record and recently received votes in the latest American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Division II poll.

East Stroudsburg and Bloomsburg are tied in the all-time series category, 44-44-2. The Huskies, however, have won the last three contests between the schools including last season's 26-18 victory on Oct. 13 during Bloomsburg University's annual Parents and family weekend.Â

Alex Gooden all hit the 1,000 yards rushed mark on the 2018 season in the win while the three backs managed to combine for 355 yards rushed on the afternoon, the most rushing yards in a game for Bloomsburg since rushing for 454 yards in a 41-10 victory over West Chester on October 25, 2014.

- The Huskies have lost five times in the first six games to begin a year for only the ninth time in the past 76 seasons since 1944. In the previous eight, they were 1-5 in 1975, 1976, 1991, and 1993; 0-5-1 in 1982; and 0-6 in 1980, 1981, and 1992. BU won no more than two games in any of those seasons except for 1991 (5-5) and 1993 (5-6).

- Bloomsburg has lost four consecutive games during the same season for the first time since 1992 and only the tenth time in the past 50 years. The other nine all came in sets of three consecutive years: 1973-1975, 1979-1981, and 1990-1992.

Michael Allen (Oley, Pa./Fleetwood) had 31 yard receiving on Saturday, giving him 2,007 for his career and becoming only the sixth receiver in school history to reach 2,000 yards. The top five are Mike Lelko (3,151 from 1997-2000), Buck Eardley (3,134 from 1992-1995), Ron Lelko (2,936 from 1994-1997), Brahin Bilal (2,248 from 2004-2007), and Bob Tucker (2,126 from 1965-1967).

- The all-time record for Bloomsburg on October 19 is 7-10, with a record of 4-4 at home and 3-6 on the road. The first was a 6-0 victory over Susquehanna in 1895. All three road wins have come in the last three games played on this date. The most recent was the only time BU has played at East Stroudsburg on October 19. That was a 52-38 win in 2013, when Franklyn Quiteh set a school record with 304 yards rushing.
- The 20-17 loss to West Chester was only the second time in 1,089 games in school history the Huskies have lost a game with that score. The first occasion was at home with the East Stroudsburg State Normal School in 1922. The only time they have won a game by that score was at Slippery Rock in 2004.

- This Saturday's contest with East Stroudsburg is the 91st in the series, with Bloomsburg's record in the first 90 games standing at an even .500, 44-44-2: 23-22-1 at home, 21-20-1 on the road, and 0-2 at a neutral site. The first game was 112 years ago this Saturday, when the Bloomsburg State Normal School lost at home in 1907 by a score of 5-4. The Huskies have a record against the Warriors since 1994 of 22-4, 11-3 at home and 11-1 away.

Bloomsburg enters Saturday's contest with a record of 1-5 overall and an 0-3 mark in the PSAC East after suffering a 20-17 setback at #12 West Chester last Saturday. Offensively, the Huskies are 15th in the league as they are averaging only 227.8 yards of total offense over the first half of the 2019 season. Only Edinboro (224.8) is averaging fewer offensive yards per game, who is the only team Bloomsburg has defeated this calendar year. Bloomsburg is eighth in the league on defense, allowing 367.2 yards per contest.

Nyfease West has added 196 yards on 42 totes of his own. Bloomsburg is 11th in the league in rushing, averaging 95.3 yards per game - and just 2.9 yards per carry.Â
Logan Leiby has completed 58.7% of his passes (81-of-138) for 795 yards and four touchdowns - with three interceptions on the year. Leiby ranks in the top ten in the PSAC in completion percentage (58.7%). The Huskies' 132.5 passing yards per game average is last in the league with Edinboro (165.2) being the next closest conference opponent in that category.Â

Chris Monaco (Pocono Pines, Pa./Pocono Mountain West), and Trumino have also each tallied an interception. Nine players have had a hand in eight total sacks for Bloomsburg this season.
SCOUTING EAST STROUDSBURG
East Stroudsburg has won five of its six games played to start the season and recently received votes in the latest American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Division II poll. The Warriors are just ninth in the PSAC in total offense (374.35 yards per game) and ranks 11
th defensively in average yards allowed per game (317.3).
The offense is led by quarterback Jake Cirillo who has had a strong first half of the 2019 season. Cirillo has completed 65.9% of his passes (116-of-176) for 1,350 yards and 12 touchdowns through the opening six weeks while leading the team with 390 rushing yards and three more scores on the ground. He is averaging 284.2 yards of total offense per game - fourth in the PSAC. The leading running back for the Warriors is Devante Robinson who has carried the ball 82 times for 315 yards and a team leading eight touchdowns – which is tied for first in the PSAC. Javier Buffalo leads the team in receiving with 29 receptions good for 390 yards and five touchdowns which is tied for seventh in the league.
Jammer Brooks leads the team with 37 total tackles. Joel Ozoemena is next on the team with 36 total stops while Tyler Watson has added 20. Kutztown has recorded 15 sacks on the season (tied for sixth in the PSAC).
