Storyline
The Bloomsburg University field hockey team hosts Slippery Rock University in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) matchup on Saturday, October 26. The Huskies enter the contest with a 5-10 record (2-5 in PSAC), most recently beating #3 Millersville in a double-overtime thriller. Slippery Rock sits at 4-11 overall, and 1-6 in the PSAC. The Rock recently halted a three-game losing streak, winning their last contest 3-2 over the Lakers of Mercyhurst.

The Huskies lead the all-time series over Slippery Rock 13-2, with an 8-0 record at Steph Pettit Stadium. The last time they met, Bloomsburg took the contest 3-1, with help from two goals from senior Willow Perkins (Bloomsburg, Pa./Central Columbia) and one from sophomore Foto Tsioles (Kingston, Pa./Wyoming Valley West) in 2018.
Scouting Bloomsburg
Bloomsburg enters the contest looking to capitalize on a late season push by winning its third PSAC win of the year. The Huskies currently sit at eighth in the conference after winning 2-0 over Seton Hill and then stunning #3 ranked Millersville on the road Tuesday evening. The match versus the Marauders was highlighted by a strong in-net performance by junior Hannah Barnard (Vestal, N.Y./Vestal), and a clutch backhanded goal by sophomore Kristen Robinson (Palmyra, Pa./Palmyra Area) in the second period of overtime, her first of the season. The Bloomsburg offense is led by Foto Tsioles (Kingston, Pa./Wyoming Valley West) with 15 points behind seven goals and an assist. Junior Cheyenne Ott (Mount Bethel, Pa./Bangor) follows with six points for the year, dealing out two assist and two goals. Barnard has been solid in-between the pipes for the Huskies lately, starting the last four games a holding a .885 save percentage and a .924 goals against average in that stretch. Freshman Abby Shaffer (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) has started 10 games in net for the Huskies and sports a 2.51 goals against average. Shaffer has 56 stops on the year while Barnard has collected 35 on the year.
Scouting Slippery Rock
Slippery Rock is 4-11 on the year and 1-6 in PSAC action. The Rock currently sits one spot behind the Huskies, at ninth in the conference. The Rock's offense is led by sophomore Jessie Trube, who has racked up seven goals and two assist this season. Junior Kayla Ulrich has also contributed four goals and two assists. In net for the Rock is junior keeper Hannah Nurse. She has started 10 of the 12 games, going 3-11 while holding a goal allowed average of 2.80 and a .737 save percent.
Post-Season Watch
Bloomsburg currently sits at eighth in the PSAC, only one game out of the playoffs with three conference games left. Millersville and IUP both sit at 3-4 in the conference. Bloomsburg holds the tie breaker over Millersville, while IUP holds the tie breaker over the Huskies. Millersville closes out their regular season with Mansfield, East Stroudsburg, and Seton Hill. The Crimson Hawks still have three conference games against Shippensburg, Mercyhurst, and Kutztown, with one non-conference matchup against Lindenwood.
