BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Bloomsburg University men's soccer team fell to Millersville, 2-0, Saturday afternoon to wrap up the 2019 season. The Huskies dropped to 7-11 for the year and 5-7 against Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East opponents. The Marauders improved to 11-5-2 for the year and 9-1-2 in conference action, handing them the top seed in the eastern division.

The two teams played to a scoreless tie in the first half as redshirt freshman
Nathan Slotnick (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) three saves in the first 45 minutes and Millersville goalie Darian McCauley made the first of two saves for the game in the first minute of action. Matteo Adiletta put a shot on target in the 39
th minute by Slotnick turned him away to keep the shutout alive.

The Marauders continued to test the Bloomsburg back line as they came out with two quick shots to start the second half but Slotnick made a pair of saves.

The Huskies were awarded a corner kick in the 56
th minute but junior
Thomas King's (West Chester, Pa./B. Reed Henderson) header when he got into the mix went wide and the 0-0 score held. Marauder offense went back to work and a shot from Frank Astarita was block but Millersville was able to keep the ball in its offensive zone. Eventually, Jake Gosselin got his foot on the ball and sent a hard shot at net and the ball was redirected into the net by the diving Bloomsburg goalie in the 64
th minute.

Bob Hennessey pushed the Millersville lead to 2-0 just under five minutes later as he blasted a shot that beat Slotnick to his far side.

Bloomsburg got one final shot off but was turned away by McCauley and the Marauders captured the 2-0 win.

The Marauders led the Huskies in shots 18-6 and though Bloomsburg held a 5-2 advantage in corner kicks. Slotnick finished the day with nine saves while McCauley earned the win with a pair of saves.
