BLOOMSBURG, Pa. - Junior Becca Cubbler (Royersford, Pa./Spring-Ford) and redshirt junior Kyle Dix (Schwenksville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) of the Bloomsburg University women's and men's swimming teams have been selected to participate at the 2019 NCAA Division II Swimming Championships as announced on Wednesday afternoon. This year's championships will be held from March 13 to March 16 in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Cubbler was invited to compete in three events - the 500-yard freestyle, the 1000-yard freestyle, and the 1650-yard freestyle - while Dix was chosen to swim in the 50-yard freestyle. By virtue of posting NCAA "B" cuts in other events during the season, Cubbler will also swim in the 100-yard freestyle while Dix will also participate in the 100-yard freestyle and the 100-yard butterfly. Cubbler also hit an NCAA "B" cut in the 200-yard freestyle but, due to the schedule, will scratch in that event to focus on other distances.

Cubbler will join 11 other swimmers from the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) selected to swim at the NCAA Division II Championships - six from West Chester, three from IUP, and one each from Shippensburg and Edinboro. On the men's side, only three were chosen from the PSAC - Dix, Pijus Mackevicius from West Chester, and Brent Benedict from Gannon.

In the 1000-yard freestyle, Cubbler is seeded 15th in the country with a school-record time of 10:10.60 which she established last week at the conference championships. She is ranked 16th in the country in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:55.46 and is 22nd overall in the 1650-yard freestyle with a time of 17:08.71. Her best time in the 100-yard freestyle has her 48th in the country at 51.83. Francesca Bains from Queens is the top seed in both the 1650-yard freestyle (16:30.98) and the 500-yard freestyle (4:49.39). Nova Southeastern's Emma Sundstedt leads in the 1000-yard freestyle (9:56.66) while Queens' Polina Lapshina has the best time in the country in the 100-yard freestyle (48.64).

Dix, meanwhile, is tied for 18th in the country in the 50-yard freestyle with a season-best time of 20.09. He ranks 28th in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 48.22 and ranks 38th in the 100-yard freestyle at 44.94. Florida Tech's Victor Rocha Furtado leads the nation in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 19.75. Dix, however, did swim a 19.5-second anchor leg during the Huskies' 200-yard freestyle relay time trial on Saturday at the PSAC Championships. Queens' Marius Kusch leads in both the 100-yard freestyle (42.29) and the 100-yard butterfly (44.21).

Cubbler will be looking for her first collegiate All-American honor while Dix has garnered seven All-American accolades in his career - four during the 2015-16 season and three more during the 2016-17 campaign.

The championships will be held at the Indiana University Natatorium on the campus of Indiana University - Purdue University - Indianapolis (IUPUI) from March 13 to March 16.
