BLOOMSBURG, PA - The Bloomsburg University men's tennis team dropped a pair of Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) matches to Edinboro and Mercyhurst Saturday afternoon. The Huskies fell 4-3 to Mercyhurst in the morning session, and lost 6-1 to Edinboro in the second match. Bloomsburg falls to 5-6 overall, and 1-3 in the PSAC with the losses.

Lucas Pedrotti (Caxias do Sul, Brazil/Sao Jose) and Bernardo Abreu (Belo Horizonte, Brazil/Rogedo) notched a 7-5 win over Julius Schulte and Kevin Mboko at #1 doubles in the loss to Edinboro, but the Fighting Scots would claim wins at #2 and #3 to earn the doubles team point. Pedrotti had the lone singles win for the Huskies, downing Mateus Santos 6-0, 6-2 in the lead singles spot.

The battle with Mercyhurst would come down to the #5 singles match, but Felix Schmedding bounced back from a first set loss to defeat Oliver Wiesemann (Jena, Germany/Colegio de La Asuncion Malaga) 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 and notch the victory for the Lakers.

The Huskies earned the team doubles point thanks to victories for Pedrotti and Abreu at #1, and Wiesemann and Robin Luetzig (Hadamar, Germany/Furst Johann Ludwig Schule) at #3. Pedrotti defeated Ruairidh Fraser 6-3, 6-4 to complete the 4-0 afternoon, while Nagid Walle (Willemstad, Curacao/Saint Andrews (Fla.)) downed Roy Yaron 7-6 (7-2), 6-3 at #6 singles. 

The Huskies return to the court this Monday, April 15, for a home match with Bucknell University. First serve with the Bison is set for 4:00 p.m.
