Alyssa Cianciulli (Royersford, Pa./Pope John Paul II) recorded the 1,000th dig of her Bloomsburg University volleyball career on Saturday afternoon but the Huskies fell in straight sets at perennial power Gannon University in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) contest. After a 25-7 loss in the opening set, Bloomsburg showed plenty of resiliency in sets two and three before ultimately falling 25-20 and 25-21, respectively. The Huskies dropped to 5-10 overall and 0-3 in conference action while the Golden Knights improved to 9-4 overall and 2-0 in league play.
Cianciulli finished the afternoon with 16 digs to give her 1,008 in less than two years in a Bloomsburg uniform. She has reached double figures in all 43 matches during the program's abbreviated history and she leads the PSAC in digs per set (6.58) this season. Combined with her statistics during her freshman season at Division I La Salle University, Cianciulli has totaled 1,232 digs in her collegiate career.
