MILLERSVILLE, Pa. - The Bloomsburg University men's basketball team endured a rough-shooting second half as it dropped an 87-73 decision at Millersville University on Saturday afternoon. With the loss, the Huskies fell to 8-13 overall and 5-10 in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division standings. The Marauders, meanwhile, improved to 12-9 overall and 9-6 in the PSAC East.
Trailing by one point after the opening half, the Huskies hit only nine field goals on 36 attempts in the second half as the Marauders were able to pull away for the 14-point victory. Bloomsburg went 16-of-32 (50.0%) from the floor in the first half as it found itself down by just one point, 39-38, at the break.
Despite the rough shooting percentage in the second half, the Huskies only trailed by seven, 69-62, with just over seven minutes left in regulation. However, Millersville's James Sullivan hit a triple to start an 8-2 run over a three-minute stretch to balloon the Marauder advantage to 77-64 with four minutes left. Ky Mauras (Reading, Pa./Reading) with 3:56 left to pull the Huskies to within ten.

Max Wagner (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge) led the Huskies with 22 points and nine rebounds. Wagner was 6-of-12 from the field and 10-of-12 from the line en route to his highest scoring effort since pouring in a career-high 32 points at Seton Hill on November 24. Mauras and freshman
Justin Anderson (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Carroll) added 12 points apiece while junior
Maqi Watson (Philadelphia, Pa./Mathematics, Civics, and Sciences Charter) chipped in 11 points and five rebounds in just 14 minutes off the bench. Mauras and Anderson combined to shoot just 6-of-26 from the floor on the afternoon. Mauras, who was just 2-of-12 on the day, did add seven rebounds, four assists, and three steals in the setback.
Mauras now needs 41 points to become the program's 31st member of the 1000-point club.
Bloomsburg shot 25-of-68 (36.8%) from the field on the afternoon and made only 3-of-18 (16.7%) from beyond the arc. The Huskies were 20-of-29 (69.0%) from the foul line. Millersville was 33-of-66 (50.0%) from the floor, 9-of-26 (34.6%) from long range, and 12-of-15 (80.0%) from the stripe.
Justin Nwosu paced five Millersville players in double figures with 21 points while Sullivan had a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds.
The Huskies will return home to the friendly confines of the Nelson Field House on Wednesday, February 5, when they entertain the Warriors of East Stroudsburg University. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
