BLOOMSBURG, PA- The Bloomsburg University volleyball fell in four sets to Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) rival, #1 Shepherd University, 3-1, Saturday afternoon. The Rams won the first set 25-23, while the Huskies took the second at another close set; 25-22. The Huskies played hard against top ranked team, Shepherd University, but the Rams took the game at 25-13 and 25-22 in the final two sets.

With the loss, the Huskies dropped to 9-10 for the year and 4-3 in the PSAC while the Rams advanced to 18-1 for the season and 7-0 in conference play.

Liz Bopp (Ebensburg, Pa./Central Cambria) led the way for BU with 11 kills while her teammates; junior
Shayna Warfel (Lancaster, Pa./Penn Manor) and senior
Grace Giza (Plymouth, Pa./Wyoming Valley West) both added 9 kills. Along with her kills, Giza added 8 blocks for the Huskies. Senior
Sydney Buell (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) ended the game with 2 aces and 3 blocks, while senior
Mary Kate Mooney (Royersford, Pa./Pope John Paul II) added 1 ace and 14 digs for the Huskies. Graduate Student
Alyssa Cianciulli (Royersford, Pa./Pope John Paul II) led the way in digs with 26 total along with 3 assists.
Aydan Espinal (Rock Hill, S.C./Rock Hill) closed out the day with 1 ace and 18 assists. Rounding out for the Huskies and BU leader in blocks today, senior
Mia Nicholes (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) with 9 total.

For the match Bloomsburg University hit .117 and led in aces 4-1 and blocks 13-11 while their PSAC counterpart Shepherd University, hit .147 and led in kills 53-48, assists 48-42 and digs 93-81.
The Huskies travel to Philadelphia, Pa as they take on non- conference team Chestnut Hill College Tuesday, October 19th at 7:00 PM.
