ERIE, Pa. – The Bloomsburg University women's basketball team fell to Gannon University, 79-65, Sunday afternoon to wrap up their Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) crossover weekend. With the loss, the Huskies fell to 4-7 on the year and 2-3 in conference action while the Golden Knights improved to 8-1 and 4-1 in PSAC play.

Emma Saxton (York, Pa./Central York) led the Huskies with 20 points and nine rebounds while she dished out five assists. Freshman
Lauren Kirsch (Palmyra, PA/Lower Dauphin) finished the day with 15 points in just 17 minutes on the floor as she went 4-for-6 from three-point range.
Megan Fisher (New Holland, Pa./Garden Spot) put up 12 points for the Huskies.

As a team, the Huskies shot 37.9% (22-for-58) from the floor and were 8-for-17 (47.1%) from three-point range. The Huskies were 13-for-18 from the free throw line.

The Golden Knights shot 49.1% (27-for-55) for the game and were 8-for-13 (61.5%) from beyond the arc. Gannon got 30 points off of the bench and had 15 second chance points.

Gannon won the rebounding battle 38-30.

The Golden Knights opened the game with a 25-15 first quarter. Gannon built a 14-point lead with 2:43 to play in the first before a pair of layups and a free throw from Saxton cut the lead down to nine, 21-12, with 1:54 to play.
Katelin Starr (Berwick, PA/Berwick) cut the lead to eight, 21-13 with a free throw at the 1:27 mark but Gannon rattled off four-straight points to take a 25-13 lead with six seconds left.
Hailey Hudak (Schwenksville, PA/Spring Ford) finished a layup at the buzzer to cut the lead to 10, 25-15, at the first intermission.

Each team scored 16 points in the second half as they went into half with the Golden Knights up, 41-31. Gannon out-scored Bloomsburg 38-34 in the second half to seal the 79-65 win.

Bloomsburg will have a break for the holiday season and return to action on Wednesday, January 5 when the Huskies travel to Lock Haven University for a 5:30 pm game.
