BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Bloomsburg University women's lacrosse team held off a late-game surge by Shepherd University and defeated the Rams, 15-11, Saturday afternoon in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East action. The Huskies improved to 5-3 on the year and in conference play while the Rams dropped to 3-5 for the season and against conference teams.

With less than 10 minutes to play in the contest and the Huskies leading 13-7, the Rams attempted a comeback as they scored four-straight. In a matter of three and half minutes to cut the lead down to 13-11. Senior
Abby Bergman (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) halted the Rams run and squelched any hope of a Ram come back as she scored her third of the game with 3:43 to play to push the Husky lead back to 14-11. Junior
Kelsey Kilgallon (Spring City, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) put the finishing touches on the 15-11 win with her third of the game and eighth of the year.

Haley Williams (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) got the Huskies on the board quickly as she scored her sixth of the season just 20 seconds into action. Shepherd took its first and only lead of the game as the Rams went on a 4-2 run, which included a pair of goals from senior
Anna Dempsey (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) goal, to take a 4-3 lead with 14:41 to play in the first half.

Abby Kalish (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) scored on a free position shot with 11:21 to play to kick off an eight-goal run for Bloomsburg that extended into the second half and extended it lead to 11-4 with 20:34 to go in the game. The run featured six different goal scorers, including Kalish, freshman
Amanda Stoll (Farmingdale, N.Y./Farmingdale), Kilgallon with two goals, Dempsey with two goals, and Bergman with the final goal of the run.

Shepherd got one back at the 18:15 mark but Bergman quickly answered to push the lead back to 12-5 with a free position goal. The Rams scored two goals in just over four minutes of action to cut the lead back to 12-7 and after Stoll's second of the game, went on their four-goal run in the come back attempt.

For the game, Dempsey led all players with four goals, including going 3-for-3 on free position shots while Kilgallon and Bergman each had three. Stoll had a pair of goals while Williams and sophomore
Kate Roberts (Lehman, Pa./Lake Lehman) each had a goal and an assist.

Defensively, the Huskies caused 19 of the Rams' 28 turnovers, led by senior
Lana Paulo (Sewell, N.J./Washington Township) with five CTs. Senior
Tiffany Diachynsky (Barto, Pa./Boyertown Area) had four caused turnovers and five ground balls for BU.

Bloomsburg held a 15-13 advantage in draw controls and a 26-23 advantage in ground balls. Senior

Graduate student
Angela DiPasquale (Paramus, N.J./Paramus) made six saves in net for the Huskies as she picked up her fifth win of the season while her counterpart, Hailey Bennett made 11 saves in the loss for Shepherd.

The Huskies get back to action on Wednesday, April 14 as they kick off a quick two-game road trip at Kutztown University. The Huskies defeated the Golden Bears 16-3 at home earlier this season. The opening draw is set for 4:00 pm.
