EDINBORO, Pa. - The Bloomsburg University men's tennis team saw its 2021 season come to an end on Tuesday afternoon as the Huskies dropped a 4-0 decision at Edinboro University in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Semifinals. Bloomsburg concludes its year with a 5-3 overall record while Edinboro improved to 9-4 on the season and advances to the conference championship against Mercyhurst.

The Fighting Scots won the doubles point by claiming victories at #1 and at #3 doubles. Seniors Nagid Walle (Willemstad, Curacao/Saint Andrew's (Fla.)) and Robin Luetzig (Hadamar, Germany/Furst Johann Ludwig Schule) dropped a 6-2 decision at #1 while senior Guille Carranza (Sevilla, Spain/Colegio Calasancio Hispalense) and sophomore Scott Redmond (Paget, Bermuda/Warwick Academy) fell by a 6-1 score at #3. The #2 doubles match that featured freshman Ben Clary (Palmyra, Pa./Palmyra Area) and junior Oliver Wiesemann (Jena, Germany/Deutsche Schule Málaga (Spain)) went unfinished.

Edinboro put the match away with straight-set victories at #2, #3, and #4, with the other three matches going unfinished. Luetzig gave Edinboro's Thibault Dorval a battle at #4, but ultimately dropped a 6-2, 6-4 decision in the decisive match for the Fighting Scots. The three matches that went unfinished were all in, or heading to, a third set.

The Huskies' trip to the conference tournament marks the fifth straight season that Bloomsburg has reached the postseason.
