Composite Schedule

After a week off from competing, the men's and women's cross country teams will compete at the Ed Window Memorial Invitational at Mansfield on Saturday, October 8. The event will begin with the women running at 11:15 AM, then the men will compete at 12:15 PM.

The field hockey team will be back in action this week after a two-game week that saw the Huskies beat Mercyhurst 3-0 on Tuesday before falling to Millersville 4-2 on Friday.

Against Mercyhurst, the Huskies received goals from Sydney Derr, Meghan Longenhagen and Carlee Williams to pull off the shutout win. In goal, Abby Shaffer had a pair of saves to record her fourth shutout of the season.

The Huskies will play Mercyhurst again this week at home on Saturday, October 8. The contest is will be the Alumni Welcome Back game and it is scheduled to begin at 12:00 PM at Steph Pettit Stadium.

Defense and special teams led the football team to a huge 21-16 victory over West Chester at home on Saturday.

The Huskies took an early lead over the Golden Rams in the first quarter when quarterback KJ Riley connected with Kaleb Monaco for a 58-yard touchdown on the team's opening possession of the game. Then in the second quarter, the special teams came up big for the Huskies when Ryan D'Ambra blocked a punt and Hakeem Bacon scooped the ball up and ran it back 27 yards for a score to put Bloomsburg up 14-0.

West Chester got on the scoreboard with a field goal during its next possession, but the first-half fireworks weren't over. In the closing minute of the second quarter, West Chester took the ball all the way down to Bloomsburg's six-yard line and threatened to make it a one-possession game before the break. However, a fumble by West Chester's quarterback led to a huge momentum swing as Bloomsburg defensive lineman William Martin III picked up the loose ball and ran it back 88 yards for a score with two seconds left before the half.

The big play before half made the contest 21-3 at the break, and the Huskies defense was able to hold West Chester's offense to 13 points in the second half as Bloomsburg came away with a 21-16 victory.

Bloomsburg (2-3, 1-1 PSAC East) will be back in action with a road contest at Kutztown (3-2, 1-1 PSAC East) on Saturday. The game is scheduled to kick off at 12:00 PM.
