BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Bloomsburg University field hockey team dropped a 4-0 decision to #4 West Chester University, Wednesday afternoon in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference action. The Huskies evened their record at 8-8 and moved to 3-5 in the PSAC while the Golden Rams improved to 12-3 on the year and 5-3 in the conference.

The two teams played a scoreless first quarter before West Chester jumped out to a 2-0 lead with a pair of early second quarter goals.

With just over five minutes to play in the second quarter, the Huskies earned a penalty corner. Senior
Bri Doebler (Mifflinburg, Pa./Mifflinburg Area) inserted the ball into the circle for an open
Sam Schaffer (Vestal, N.Y./Vestal). Schaffer's shot went jut wide of the cage and the Golden Rams hung on for a 2-0 lead at the break.

West Chester tacked on two more goals late in the fourth to seal the 4-0 win.
The Golden Rams held a 21-2 advantage in shots. Senior
Abby Shaffer (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) made nine saves while sophomore
Jackie Nevel (Nescopeck, Pa./Berwick Area) made four saves in the final 10:29 of the game. Sophomore
Jasmine Fink (Boyertown, Pa./Boyertown Area) made a defensive save midway through the third quarter for the Huskies.
Bloomsburg returns to action next Saturday as the Huskies close out the regular season against Slippery Rock at Steph Pettit Stadium. The game is slated for 12:00 p.m. Prior to the first whistle, the Huskies will honor their graduating seniors,
