BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Bloomsburg women's basketball team dropped a non-conference contest to Daemen University, 66-45, Sunday afternoon.

Ella Kale (Spring Grove, PA/Spring Grove) and freshman
Abby Brown (Phillipsburg, N.J./Bethlehem Catholic) finished the day with 13 points each, while Brown and sophomore Katelin Starr finished with five rebounds and Brown had three steals. Junior
Megan Fisher (New Holland, Pa./Garden Spot) dished out two assists with her seven points and four rebounds.
The Huskies shot 33.3% as a team from the field (16-for-48) and were 1-for-13 from the three-point line. Bloomsburg was 12-for-24 (50%) from the free-throw line.
The Wildcats shot 47.1% from the field (24-for-51) for the game and were 6-for-18 (33.3%) from beyond the three-point line. Daemen was 12-for-18 (66.7%) from the free-throw line. Natalie Angeletti and Alahna Paige each had 17 points for the Wildcats.
The Huskies got on the board first as Starr made a layup off an assist from Fisher 36 seconds into action, but the Wildcats took control of the first quarter with an 8-0 run over the next five minutes to take an 8-2 lead. Fisher ended the Huskies' scoring drought with a layup after a Daemen turnover at the 3:07 mark, but the Wildcats closed out the quarter with a 7-4 run to take a 15-8 lead at the first break.
Bloomsburg cut the lead down to five, 15-10, with a layup from Fisher at 8:43, but back-to-back jumpers at the end of shot clocks by Angeletti pushed Daemen's lead to 10, 20-10, with 7:21 to play in the second. The two teams traded the next several baskets before Daemen went on a 7-3 run to take a 14-point lead, 33-19, at the 1:56 mark. Kale and Brown each hit a free throw in the final two minutes of the half as Daemen held on to a 33-21 lead at the half.
Daemen pushed its lead to 17 with 3:33 to play in the third before the Huskies rallied for a 6-1 run in the quarter's final minutes to get back to within 12, 44-32, with 10 minutes to play.
The Huskies got the deficit down to 10, 50-40, with 6:35 thanks to a driving layup from Kale, but the Wildcats closed out the game on a 12-5 run to seal the 66-45 win.
The Huskies (2-1) open Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) action on Friday, December 2, as Bloomsburg hosts Pitt-Johnstown in the first East/West Crossover contest of the season. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m. at Nelson Field House.
