Women's Lacrosse Falls to #6 East Stroudsburg in Season Finale

EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – The Bloomsburg University lacrosse team fell to #6 East Stroudsburg in their regular-season finale, 18-6, Saturday afternoon.
 
Kelsey Kilgallon (Spring City, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) started things for the Huskies with the game's first goal at the 13:24 mark, but East Stroudsburg went on a 9-0 run that ran into the second quarter to take a 9-1 lead with 4:40 to play before the break. Madison Coyle (Williamstown, N.J./Williamstown) and Kate Roberts (Lehman, Pa./Lake Lehman) scored back-to-back goals for the Huskies to cut the lead to 9-3 with 40 seconds left, but Kiki Fitzpatrick scored with just 13 seconds showing to give the Warriors a 10-3 lead at halftime.
 
After ESU pushed its lead to 11-3 just 40 seconds into the third quarter, Abby Kalish (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) got on the board with her 29th of the season to trim the deficit to 11-4. The Warriors went on another run, this time six-straight goals, to take a 17-4 advantage with 9:35 to play in regulation. Kilgallon cut it back to 17-5 with her 46th of the season at the 9:35 mark. After a Gianna LeDuc goal gave the Warriors an 18-5 lead, Kilgallon ended the game with her 47th goal of the year for the final tally of the game and the 18-6 score in favor of East Stroudsburg.
 
As a team, the Huskies won the ground ball battle, 22-19, though East Stroudsburg narrowly edged out the Huskies on the draw, 14-13.
 
Kalish and Stoll won four draw controls each, while Erika Biehl (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) led the team with six ground balls and three caused turnovers. Biehl finishes her career with 102 caused turnovers and 156 ground balls.
 
Freshman Lauren Foley (Schwenksville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) made eight saves in net. Foley wraps up her first year in the Maroon & Gold with 140 saves in 17 games. Foley played in and started every game for the Huskies this season and posted a 10-7 record.
 
The Huskies end the season with a 10-7 overall record and a 6-6 slate in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) play.
