BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Bloomsburg University women's tennis team picked up its first Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) win of the season with a 6-1 victory over Lock Haven University, Tuesday.
The Huskies swept the doubles point with three-straight 6-1 wins.
Rea Hagishima (Tokyo, Japan/Meguro Nihon University High School) and
Luana Bernardi (Aruja, Sao Paulo, Brazil/Colegio Reino) won at No. 1 doubles while
Sarah Capoferri (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) and
Isabella Sarquis (Belo Horizonte, Brazil/Metodo) picked up the 6-1 win at No. 2 doubles.
Lexi Quackenbush (Pittsburgh, PA/Fox Chapel) and
Alese Rinker (/) completed the sweep with a 6-1 win at No. 3 doubles.
Quackenbush earned her second win of the day with a 6-2, 6-1 victory at No. 2 singles while Bernardi won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 3 singles. Sarquis picked up the 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 4 singles and
Alyssa Mazurek () won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 5.
Alese Rinker (/) closed out the sinlges wins with a 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 6.
Bloomsburg gets back to action on Friday when the Huskies host Edinboro in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference action at 3:00 pm.
