FROSTBURG, Md. – The No. 5 Bloomsburg field hockey team won its fifth straight contest in a 2-0, non-conference victory over Frostburg State on Saturday afternoon.

Bloomsburg (13-3) opened the scoring in the second half as senior
Emily Swineford (Mt. Pleasant Mills, Pa./Selinsgrove Area) netted her team-leading 10th goal of the season. Freshman
Genna Bush (Boiling Springs, Pa./Boiling Springs) earned the assist on the play after hustling to save the ball from rolling out of play.

With a minute and a half remaining in the third quarter, sophomore
Jasmine Fink (Boyertown, Pa./Boyertown Area) sent a ball into the shooting circle where freshman
Alyxandra Flick (Bloomsburg, Pa./Central Columbia) was able to deposit a reverse hit into the cage to extend the Huskies lead.

Frostburg (8-7) recorded seven shots on goal in the game, all of which were stopped by junior
Jackie Nevel (Nescopeck, Pa./Berwick Area).

Nevel and the Huskies have posted five straight shutouts, the longest shutout streak for Bloomsburg since 2011.

The Huskies return home on Tuesday for a PSAC contest against Mansfield at 4 p.m.
