KUTZTOWN, Pa. – #9 Bloomsburg field hockey fell to #3 Kutztown in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) action Wednesday night. The Huskies dropped to 8-3 on the year and 1-3 in the PSAC, while the Golden Bears improved to 8-1 and 3-1 in conference action.

The Golden Bears wasted little time to jump out to an early 1-0 lead as Erin Gonzalez scored off a rebound on a shot that Husky goalie
Jackie Nevel (Nescopeck, Pa./Berwick Area) initially saved just 55 seconds into the game. Kutztown added two more before the end of the first quarter to take a 3-0 lead.

Genna Bush (Boiling Springs, Pa./Boiling Springs) got the game's first shot off for the Huskies 3:32 into the second quarter, but Mia Kepler stopped her attempt on cage. With less than five to play,
Aydan McFarland (Bloomsburg, Pa./Bloomsburg Area) ripped a shot, but her attempt went just win, and Kutztown took a 3-0 lead into halftime.

The Husky defense limited the Golden Bears to just three shots for the rest of the game – one in the third quarter and just two in the fourth, none of which were on target. The Bloomsburg offense did not take another shot for the game.

Kutztown led the Huskies in shots (12-2) and penalty corners (7-1), while Nevel made three saves to Kepler's one.

The Huskies look to rebound as they travel to IUP for an important PSAC match-up in Indiana, Pa. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
