WINTER PARK, Fla. – The Bloomsburg softball team dropped both games of a doubleheader to Rollins College, Wednesday afternoon. The Huskies fell to 4-12 overall while the Tars improved to 17-9.

Rollins took the first game 4-0 while completing the twinbill sweep with a 7-1 win in game two.

The Huskies had two runners in scoring position to open the game as
Sage Weidlich (Pittston, Pa./Pittston) got hit by a pitch and
Alex Iseminger (Everett, Pa./Everett Area) doubled to right field but BU couldn't bring the runners home in the top of the first.

The Tars got off to an early lead in game one as Ashley Troutman homered on the first pitch she saw in the bottom of the first.

After a scoreless second and third for both teams, the Huskies loaded the bases as
Taylor Welsh (Pottsville, Pa./Pottsville) and
Taylor Kranzley (Northampton, Pa./Northampton) hit back-to-back singles.
Bella Culp (Harrisburg, Pa/Central Dauphin) followed it up with a single of her own to fill the base paths with Huskies. T Hartman came out to pitch for the Tars and wiggled out of trouble to keep the Huskies off the board.

Rollins added an insurance run on the bottom of fifth and two more in the sixth to take a 4-0 lead. Weidlich and Iseminger reached on back-to-back errors by the Rollins short stop before Welsh reached on a fielder's choice that got Weidlich out at third for the second out. After a pitching change. Culp popped up to short to end the game.

Callie Sowers (Irwin, Pa/Hempfield Area) took the loss in the circle for the Huskies with a 6.0 complete game effort, giving up four runs, three earned, on three walks and three hits. Sowers had just one strike out.

 Iseminger got things going for the Huskies in the top of the first of game two. She doubled to left center with
Kayleigh Lenner (Sunbury, Pa./Shikellamy) coming home.

The Tars responded with two in the bottom of the first and two more in the second. Rollins plated two more in the fourth with three hits. The Tars added another run in the bottom of the sixth to seal the 7-1 win for Rollins.

Lillian Gray (New Bedford, Mass./New Bedford) took the loss with 2.0 innings pitched and she gave up four runs on six hits.
Kelly Eberly (Purcellville, Va/Homeschooled) finished off the game in the circle with three runs on six hits in 4.0 innings of work.

The Huskies have Thursday off before squaring off against IUP and Hillsdale in Sleepy Hallow, Leesburg, Va. The first game against IUP is slated for 12:30 pm and the second game against Hillsboro is set for 3:00 p.m.
