BLOOMSBURG, Pa. - The Bloomsburg men's tennis team hosted Jefferson in its regular season finale on Tuesday. The Huskies fell to the Rams, 4-0, after the match was played to decision.
The Rams claimed the doubles point with at win at No. 1 and No. 3 but
Fernando Barros (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Hoosac School) and
Arnav Sharma (Haryana,India/Suncity School) staved off a sweep with a 7-5 win at No. 2.
After dropped the first set 7-5 at No. 6 singles, Sharma had his Rams' opponent, Jamil Racho, tied 3-3 in the second set when the match point was decided.
Vishesh Patel (Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India/Asia English School) was down 1-0 in the No. 4 singles match after a 6-3 set win for Elliot Jarosz but came back to force a tie-break in the second set, despite losing 7-5.
The Huskies clinched the No. 4 seed in the upcoming Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Tournament, beginning on Saturday. The Huskies face No. 1 Edinboro in the semifinals match at 2:00 p.m. in Bloomsburg. A full preview of the tournament will be available later this week.
