Lacrosse Ends Season with a 12-6 Win Over Shippensburg

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa – The Bloomsburg women's lacrosse team wrapped up the 2023 season with a 12-6 win over Shippensburg Saturday afternoon. The Huskies wrap up the year with a 7-10 overall record, while the Raiders end the year at 2-15.

Freshman Julia Cote (Macungie, Pa./Emmaus) and junior Amanda Stoll (Farmingdale, N.Y./Farmingdale) led the Huskies with three goals each, while senior Haley Williams (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) had two goals and two assists. Senior Kate Roberts (Lehman, Pa./Lake Lehman) scored once and handed out two assists. Senior Annie Rollins (Shamong, N.J./Seneca) had a goal and an assist, while Katie Fluck (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) and Cassidy Griffin (Lake Grove, N.Y./Sachem North) each had one goal.

Sophomore Lauren Foley (Schwenksville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) had a career-high 18 saves in net for the win for Bloomsburg. Foley held the Raiders to just a 2-for-13 day on free position shots as she made seven saves on FPS.

Williams kicked off a four-goal run for the Huskies to start the game with a goal at the 12:47 mark. Roberts followed with her goal before Williams scored for the second time at the 4:44 mark. Cote wrapped up the run with her 20th of the season to give the Huskies a 4-0 win with 2:06 to play in the first.

Shippensburg opened the second quarter with its first goal with 13:54 to play before Stoll and Cote went back-to-back for a 6-1 lead with 8:19 to play in the first half. The Raiders sandwiched a pair of goals around Griffin's man-up to end the second quarter.

Cote and Stoll opened the third quarter with back-to-back goals to give the Huskies a 9-3 lead. The Raider strung together three goals to close out the third quarter and cut Bloomsburg's lead to 9-6.

Stoll opened the fourth quarter with her 25th of the season just 45 seconds into the period. Fluck pushed the Huskies' lead to an 11-6 lead with 3:46 to go in regulation. Rollins capped the game with two seconds to play to seal the 12-6 win.

Roberts ended the season with 39 points behind 32 goals and seven assists, while Rollins had 35 points with 19 goals and 16 assists. Rollins ends her career with 48 goals and 35 assists for 83 points. Kelsey Clauss (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill West) finished her career with 110 points behind 62 goals and 48 assists, while Williams closed out her career at BU with 45 goals and 23 assists for 68 points. Defensively, Vittoria LaBanca (Denville, N.J./Morris Knolls) finished her career with 23 ground balls, and 13 caused turnovers.
