BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Bloomsburg women's tennis team earned its first Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) win of the spring as the Huskies defeated Kutztown 7-0 Monday afternoon. Bloomsburg improved to 1-8 and 1-1 in the PSAC East while the Golden Bears dropped to 4-8 and 1-2 in conference play.

The Huskies swept doubles action to get the first point of the match.
Lexi Quackenbush (Pittsburgh, PA/Fox Chapel) and
Luana Bernardi (Aruja, Sao Paulo, Brazil/Colegio Reino) took No. 1 doubles 6-2 while
Jen McDonald (Melbourne, Australia/Brentwood Secondary College) and
Nicole Ilkovic (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy High School) won 6-1 at No. 2 doubles.
Sarah Capoferri (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) and
Alese Rinker (/) won by default at No. 3 doubles to secure the sweep.

Alyssa Mazurek (McAdoo, PA/Hazleton Area) won by default at No. 6 singles and Ilkovic won at No. 2 singles, 6-0, 6-1. Bernardi won 6-1, 6-0 won at No. 3 singles for the Huskies. Capoferri won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 5 singles and Quackenbush won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 singles. Rinker closed out the match with a 7-6 (7-3), 7-5 win at No. 4 singles.

The Huskies return to action on Tuesday when they travel to PSAC East foe, Lock Haven, for a 4:00 pm match. Bloomsburg travels on Friday to Frostburg, Md. to take on West Virginia Wesleyan and Frostburg in a pair of non-conference matches.
