SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Bloomsburg director of athletic communications and marketing Mary Raskob was named second vice president of the Eastern Athletic Communications Association (EAST-COMM) during the organization's annual workshop last week in Springfield, Massachusetts.

Raskob moves into a four-year term in the presidential rotation for EAST-COMM, which will see her serve as second vice president in 2023-24, first vice president in 2024-25 and become president in 2025-26. She will close out that cycle with one year as past-president in 2026-27.

When Raskob assumes the presidency at the 2025 workshop, she will become just the seventh female president in the 70-year history of the organization and the first female president since Adrienne Mullikin in 2009-10.

"We're excited to have Mary joining the presidential rotation and thrilled to have our first female in that position in more than a decade," said current president Greg Pellegrino. "Mary has done a great job serving the board and has shown a passion for giving back to the athletic communications profession. We're confident she will do a tremendous job and will advance the mission of EAST-COMM during her time in the rotation."

Raskob has served as the membership services chair on the EAST-COMM executive board since 2020.

She will enter her fifth year at Bloomsburg in the fall and her third year as the director of athletic communications and marketing, where she oversees the external communications for the Huskies' 22 NCAA Division II sports teams and NCAA DI men's wrestling.

EAST-COMM was established in 1955 as the East Coast Athletic Conference Sports Information Directors Association (ECAC-SIDA). The organization's mission is to provide high-level, affordable professional development, educational opportunities and networking for its members, providing an avenue for growth as strategic communicators in collegiate athletics. The organization's primary method of delivering on its mission comes via hosting an annual workshop located in the Northeastern part of the United States.
