Travis Elmore Reaches 1,000-Career Points as Men's Basketball Falls to Millersville

MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – Travis Elmore (Tobyhanna, Pa./Pocono Mountain West) reached the 1,000-point milestone as the Bloomsburg men's basketball team fell in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) contest to Millersville, 88-57, on Saturday afternoon.

Bloomsburg (3-12, 1-8 PSAC) and Millersville (11-3, 6-2) took seven combined possessions to open the scoring. After Millersville's Day Waters scored the first points of the game, the Marauders and the Huskies traded the lead six times in the early minutes of the bout.

On his sixth point of the game, graduate forward Travis Elmore (Tobyhanna, Pa./Pocono Mountain West) became the 32nd player in program history to reach 1,000-career points.

Despite a layup from DJ Gordon (Pittsburgh, Pa./First Love Christian Academy) that brought the Huskies within one with seven minutes remaining, Millersville pulled away to an 18-point lead to end the first half. The Marauders extended their lead in the second frame, picking up their 11th win of the season.

Bench scoring proved to be effective for the maroon and gold, with 44 of the Huskies' points coming from the bench.

Gordon went 5-for-7 from the floor, finishing the game with 14 points and six rebounds.

Elmore recorded a season-high 11 points while going 4-for-5 and 3-for-4 from the line.

Overall, Bloomsburg shot 21-of-50 (42 percent) in the game, while Millersville shot 30-of-61 (49.2 percent).

The Huskies return to Nelson Field House on Saturday, January 20 for a 3 p.m. matchup with Kutztown.
