LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Bloomsburg women's basketball team fell to No. 16 Lock Haven in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) matchup inside Thomas Fieldhouse on Monday night, 68-52.

No. 16 Lock Haven (18-1, 13-0 PSAC) came out strong to start the contest, going 5-for-6 from the floor to take a 14-8 lead over Bloomsburg (4-15, 2-11) in the opening minutes. A late run gave the Bald Eagles a 21-10 at the end of the first quarter.

The second frame proved to be much of the same as overall Lock Haven shot 16-of-25 from the floor in the first half, taking a 43-23 lead into the locker room at halftime.

The Huskies came out energized in the second half, outscoring the Bald Eagles 17-8 in the third quarter. The maroon and gold held Lock Haven to 3-of-18 shooting, including 0-for-4 from beyond the arc. Bloomsburg was unable to complete the comeback as Lock Haven extended its win-streak to 18 games.

The reigning PSAC East Defensive Athlete of the Week,
Katie Starr (Berwick, Pa./Berwick), went 5-for-7 to post 14 points while hauling in eight rebounds.

Freshman
Leah Kale (Spring Grove, Pa./Spring Grove) matched Starr with 14 points en route to recording a career high.
Maddie LaFrance (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) posted her 11th double-digit scoring performance of the season, finishing with 10 points.

The Huskies overall shot 37 percent (17-of-46) from the floor while the Bald Eagles shot 43.9 percent (25-of-57).

The Huskies return home on Wednesday, January 31 for a 5:30 p.m. contest with the West Chester.
