Men's Basketball Drops PSAC Clash Against Edinboro at Home

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Bloomsburg men's basketball team fell to Edinboro, 83-55, in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) contest inside the Nelson Field House on Saturday afternoon.

Louie Wild (Philadelphia, PA/Roman Catholic) lead Bloomsburg (2-10, 1-4 PSAC) in scoring with 15 points while Matt Bengel (Erie, Pa./Mercyhurst Prep) finished in double-digits with 13 points. Tony Henderson (Pittsburgh, Pa./Taylor Allderdice) notched seven points, five assists and three steals.

The Huskies finished 24-of 67 shooting (35.8 percent) while Edinboro (5-7, 2-4 PSAC) shot 30-for-59 (50.8 percent) from the floor and 17-for-34 (50.0 percent) from beyond the arc.

The Fighting Scots' Cenker Evran put the visitors on the board first with a tip-in layup 35 seconds into the contest. Edinboro then put a three-pointer on the board to extend the lead before Louie Wild (Philadelphia, PA/Roman Catholic) responded with a triple of his own to put the Huskies on the board.

After a pair of missed three-point attempts from the Fighting Scots, Wild nailed his second three-pointer of the contest to pull Bloomsburg within two. Back-to-back threes from Edinboro's Michael Dunn and Steve Kelly put the visitors ahead eight before Wild knocked down his third-straight triple.

From there, a dominant string of shooting from the Fighting Scots pushed their lead to 16 halfway through the opening half. After the maroon and gold slowly chipped away at the lead throughout the remainder of the frame, a late surge moved Edinboro to a42-24 advantage entering halftime.

Danny Bruce (Edinboro, Pa./General McLane) put Bloomsburg on the board first in the second half, but the Fighting Scots picked up right were the left off in the first, draining a three-pointer on the next possession. The Huskies were unable to match Edinboro's three-point shooting as the visitors took the contest, 83-55.

Bloomsburg returns to Nelson Field House in 2025 as it hosts Mansfield on Friday, January 3 for a 7:30 p.m. tip-off.
