Men's Basketball Bested By Millersville at Home

BLOOMSBURG, Pa – The Bloomsburg men's basketball team dropped a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) matchup with Millersville, 91-73, inside Nelson Field House on Saturday afternoon.
 
The contest was fast paced from the opening tip-off as Jagger Dressler (Danville, Pa./Danville) put Bloomsburg (5-18, 3-14 PSAC) on the board 20 seconds in. Millersville (18-4, 13-3 PSAC) responded 12 seconds later on a jumper from Matt Dade.
 
The Marauders shot 17-for-30 in the first half to take a 43-29 lead into halftime.
 
The Huskies came out of the locker room with energy in the second half, going 5-of-7 from the field to pull within nine points of MU.
 
Despite shooting 62.96 percent (17-for-27) from the floor and 6-for-11 from outside the arc in the second frame, the maroon and gold were unable to complete the comeback as they were met with 20-for-33 shooting from Millersville in the second half.
 
Overall, Bloomsburg shot 50.9 percent (29-for-57) from the floor, the sixth time this season the Huskies have shot above 50 percent. The Marauders posted their second-highest shooting percentage of the season in the contest (58.7 percent).
 
Louie Wild (Philadelphia, PA/Roman Catholic) led the team in scoring, recording 18 points on 7-for-15 shooting and going 3-for-9 from three-point territory. He also posted four assists, three steals, two rebounds and a block.
 
Matt Bengel (Erie, Pa./Mercyhurst Prep) went 7-for-12 from the floor, finishing with 16 points, five rebounds, a steal and a block.
 
Mondyu Richards (Silver Spring, Md./Albert Einstein) recorded a career-high 12 points while going 5-for-7. The freshman forward hauled in four rebounds.
 
Desmond Freeman (Greensboro, N.C./Southeast Guilford) and Dressler each posted 10 points, combing for 7-for-15 shooting. Dressler went 4-for-8 with four assists, three rebounds and a steal. Freeman shot 3-for-7 while hauling in three rebounds.
 
The Huskies return to action on Saturday, February 17 as they travel to Kutztown for a 3 p.m. matchup with the Golden Bears.
