WEST CHESTER, Pa. – The Bloomsburg men's basketball team fell in its final game if the 2023-24 season to West Chester, 84-63, in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) contest with the Golden Rams inside Hollinger Field House on Saturday afternoon.

West Chester (18-10, 15-7 PSAC) took six seconds to put points on the board with a fastbreak layup from Jordan Kellier. Bloomsburg (5-23, 3-19) responded with its first points of the game on a dunk from
Mondyu Richards (Silver Spring, Md./Albert Einstein).

A pair of
Louie Wild (Philadelphia, PA/Roman Catholic) three-pointers gave the Huskies a 10-8 lead five minutes into the contest. The Golden Rams regained the lead with an 10-0 run and held the lead for the rest of the contest.

The Huskies 16-for-38 shooting performance on the second half was not enough to complete a comeback against WCU.

Bloomsburg shot 36.9 percent (24-for-65) in the game while West Chester went 36-for-80 (45 percent).

Matt Bengel (Erie, Pa./Mercyhurst Prep) led the team in scoring with 14 points, while hauling in five rebounds and two steals. The Erie native finished the year as the teams-leading scorer with 352 points this season.

Richards went 6-for-9 from the floor, finishing with 12 points and a team-high seven rebounds, a block, and a steal.

Wild posted double-digit points for the 20th time this season with 11 points.
Desmond Freeman (Greensboro, N.C./Southeast Guilford) posted 10 points and six assists. Freeman finished his NCAA-career with 649 points between Bloomsburg and Bluefield State.
