BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The RV/#19 Bloomsburg women's lacrosse team battled until the final whistle but fell to #2/1 West Chester University, 16-10, Saturday afternoon. The Huskies dropped to 6-2 on the year and 2-2 in the PSAC East while the Golden Rams remained perfect at 8-0 and 3-0 in conference play.

Facing a 3-0 lead after the first five minutes of the first quarter, the Huskies offense started to click with just over five minutes to go in the period. After a green card on the Rams, freshman
Kayla Stressman (Harleysville, Pa./North Penn) got her 12
th tally of the season thanks to an assist from senior
Amanda Stoll (Farmingdale, N.Y./Farmingdale) at the 5:25 mark. With 3:43 to play,
Lauren Foley (Schwenksville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) made a nice stop on a free position shot and
Madison Coyle (Williamstown, N.J./Williamstown) picked up the ground ball to start a successful clear for the Huskies.
Maya Fulmer (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) finished the offensive possession for the Huskies with her 10
th goal of the season to cut the lead to one, 3-2, with 2:36 to play in the first.

The Golden Rams closed out the period with a pair of goals to re-take a three-goal lead, 5-2, after the first 15 minutes.

The Huskies opened the second period with three-straight goals to tie the game at 5-5 in the first 1:57 minutes of the quarter. Stressman got her second goal of the game 1:02 into the frame
Kate Roberts (Lehman, Pa./Lake Lehman) cut the lead to one, 5-4, at the 13:40 mark with her fifth of the year.
Marykate Sitko (Pennsburg, Pa./Upper Perkiomen) drew a foul and completed her free possession shot with 13:03 to play in the quarter.

The Rams then went on a five-goal run to take a 10-5 lead at the 1:54 mark but a goal from Coyle with 17 seconds to go before halftime on a free position shot cut the lead to four, 10-6.

The third period was a defensive battle between the two teams as the only goal came with 1:32 to play as Hannah Stanislawczyk scored on a free position shot to give WCU an 11-6 advantage.

Back-to-back goals for West Chester gave the Rams a 13-6 lead with 13:32 to play in the fourth but the Huskies answered with a pair of goals within 14 seconds to get within five, 13-8. Stressman scored her third of the game at 9:54 and Coyle found the back of the net for the 21
st time this year at 9:40 for the Huskies.

West Chester pushed its lead back to six, 14-8, at the 7:50 mark and went ahead 15-8 with 4:54 to play in the fourth. Stressman found the back of the net for the fourth time, a season high for the freshman, to cut the lead to 15-9 with 4:33 to play. The Rams pushed their lead back to seven as Stanislawczyk scored her 30
th of the year at the 2:19 mark.

With 25 seconds to play in the fourth quarter, Fulmer caused a turnover in the midfield and got the ball to Roberts as she was cutting through the defense to score the game's final goal with 17 seconds to play for the final score of 16-10.

Stressman led the Huskies with four goals while Coyle had a pair of goals and an assist to go with six draw controls, two caused turnovers, and three ground balls.

Lauren Foley (Schwenksville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) finished the day with a season-best 14 saves while Jessica Gorr made nine saves in the win for West Chester.

The Huskies get back on the field at Steph Pettit Stadium on Wednesday as they welcome East Stroudsburg University for a 2:00 p.m. PSAC East contest.
