BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – Head coach Frank Sheptock and the Bloomsburg football team recently unveiled its 11-game schedule for the 2024 regular season. The Huskies will host six games on Danny Hale Field at Redman Stadium during the upcoming campaign, including a season-opening Thursday night game against Fairmont State.

Last year, the Huskies opened the year at Fairmont State on the first Thursday of the season and Bloomsburg will reciprocate the mid-week hosting duties this season. The Huskies welcome Fairmont State to Bloomsburg on Thursday, September 5 to open the season for a 6:00 p.m. kickoff. During halftime, Bloomsburg athletics will honor all student-athletes, coaches, and team who received honors during their 2023-24 seasons.

Homecoming/Parents & Supporter Weekend is set for October 11-13. The Huskies play host to East Stroudsburg for their Homecoming game with the kickoff set for 2:00 p.m. During halftime and prior to the game, the athletic department will honor its 42nd Hall of Fame Class as well as other esteemed alumni. The weekend will conclude on Sunday, October 13 with the 42nd Annual Bloomsburg Athletics Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and Luncheon. More information on the Hall of Fame class and registration will be available by the beginning of May.

Under fifth-year head coach, Frank Sheptock, the Huskies look to continue their solid defensive play while welcoming a new offensive coordinator for the 2024 season.

The Huskies return a pair of all-conference performers from last year, both on the defensive side of the ball. Giovanni Cancro (Pequannock, N.J./Pequannock Township) and Tom Goetz (Wenonah, N.J./Gateway Regional) return as a top defensive lineman and linebacker in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East.

After hosting Fairmont State to open the year on September 5, the Huskies remain at Redman Stadium for Week 2. Bloomsburg begins PSAC East/West crossover against Seton Hill on September 14. It is just the third meeting between the team squads, dating back to 2015. The all-time series is tied 1-1.

The Huskies hit the road for the first time in 2024 as they travel to Edinboro for a 1:00 p.m. kick off against the Fighting Scots on September 21. The meeting between the two teams is the 16th in program history with Edinboro holding a 9-6 advantage in the series.

Returning home on September 28 will mark an exciting day for the Bloomsburg football program. The Huskies are scheduled to host West Chester for PSAC East opener at 2:00 p.m. During the game, the Bloomsburg athletic department will celebrate former Husky football legend and coach of both Bloomsburg and West Chester, Danny Hale, on his impending induction into the College Football Hall of Fame. More details on the celebration are forthcoming.

Bloomsburg hits the road for just the second during the season as the Huskies head to Kutztown on October 5. The meeting is the 77th in program history between the two squads and Bloomsburg owns a 47-28-1 all-time series lead.

After the Homecoming/Hall of Fame game against East Stroudsburg on October 12, the Huskies travel to Lock Haven for a 1:00 p.m. PSAC East contest. The Huskies are 51-41-1 all-time against the Bald Eagles and have won seven of the last 10 matchups.

Bloomsburg welcomes Shippensburg to Redman Stadium for a 2:00 p.m. contest on October 26 to wrap up the month before hitting the road on November 2 to take on Shepherd at 12:00 p.m. The Huskies are coming off a thrilling 14-10 upset of the Rams last season though Shepherd owns a 3-2 all-time series lead.

The Huskies play their final regular season home game on Saturday, November 9 against Millersville. The kick-off is set for 2:00 p.m. Bloomsburg owns a 49-31-5 series lead over the Marauders and are 9-1 in the last 10 meetings. Prior to the game, the athletic department will celebrate the football, band, and cheerleading graduating seniors.

Bloomsburg wraps up the regular season on the road this year. The Huskies are scheduled to play Slippery Rock on November 16, but the opponent is subject to change to accomadate the PSAC championship contest.

The spring season concludes this Friday, April 12, with the Annual Maroon & Gold Game at Redman Stadium. All fans are welcome to attend and admission is free of charge for everyone.
