ELLICOTT CITY, Md. – Bloomsburg's director of athletic communications and marketing, Mary Raskob, was named the president of the Eastern Athletic Communications Association (EAST-COMM) during the organization's annual workshop three weeks ago in Ellicott City, Maryland.

Raskob moved into the presidential rotation in the summer of 2023 for EAST-COMM as the organization's second vice president. Due to unforeseen circumstances, Raskob will skip her year as the 1st Vice President and after her presidential year in 2024-25, will serve as the past president during the 2025-26 academic year.

Raskob becomes just the seventh female president in the 70-year history of the organization and the first female president since Adrienne Mullikin in 2009-10.

"I am extremely excited to serve EAST-COMM and the membership in a new way this year," remarked Raskob. "Being a member of this organization is a tremendous point of pride for me and having the ability to leave my mark in this way is an incredible honor."

Before joining the presidential rotation, Raskob was the membership services chair since 2020.

Outside of her work on the EAST-COMM board, Raskob serves as the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) SID president, and on the national and regional ranking committee for Division 2 Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) men's basketball. She also coordinates the D2CCA volleyball and softball all-region award programs.

She will enter her sixth year at Bloomsburg in the fall and her fourth year as the director of athletic communications and marketing, where she oversees the external communications for the Huskies' 22 NCAA Division II sports teams and NCAA DI men's wrestling.

EAST-COMM was established in 1955 as the East Coast Athletic Conference Sports Information Directors Association (ECAC-SIDA). The organization's mission is to provide high-level, affordable professional development, educational opportunities, and networking for its members, providing an avenue for growth as strategic communicators in collegiate athletics. The organization's primary method of delivering on its mission comes via hosting an annual workshop located in the Northeastern part of the United States.
