BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The No. 8-ranked Bloomsburg field hockey team moved to 3-0 to start the season after defeating Franklin Pierce, 4-0, at Steph Pettit Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Bloomsburg (3-0) found the back of the net early as
Kara Koch (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg Area) connected with
Genna Bush (Boiling Springs, Pa./Boiling Springs) for the opening goal 24 seconds in. It is the quickest goal the Huskies have scored in the past 14 seasons.

With 29 seconds left in the first,
Kendall Iasiello (Northampton, Pa./Northampton) scored with an assist from
Jordan Bond (Dallas, Pa./Dallas) to give the maroon and gold a 2-0 lead after the opening frame.

Aydan McFarland (Bloomsburg, Pa./Bloomsburg Area) extended the Bloomsburg lead halfway through the second, posting her fifth goal of the season with a reverse shot in front of the net.

The Huskies wouldn't find the back of the cage until the final minutes of the game. A shot from outside the circle by
Bella Culp (Dauphin, Pa./Central Dauphin) deflected off a stick in front, sending the ball off the crossbar.
Jessica Serafin (Worcester, Pa./Methacton) batted the rebound out of midair for her first of the season.

Jackie Nevel (Nescopeck, Pa./Berwick Area) posted her second-straight shutout without facing a single shot on goal in the contest. She now has nine career shutouts and 14 career wins.

The Huskies outshot the Ravens 23-3 while blanking FPU 7-0 in shots on goal.
