Bloomsburg women's tennis team defeated Daemen University at the Burt Reese Center. This win puts them to 5-0 on the season.
The match started with doubles.
Macarena Arisio (San Miguel de Tucumán, Argentina/SEADEA) and
Lily Sierka (Pittsburgh, Pa./Bethel Park) swept the third flight 6-0. The duo of
Dasha Nakonechna (Spain/IOC) and
Lia-Sophie Seele (Mülheim, NRW, Germany/Luisenschule)won the second flight 6-2. Finally,
Jen McDonald (Melbourne, Australia/Brentwood Secondary College) and
Nicole Ilkovic (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy High School) won the top flight 6-3.
In singles competition, Sierka took her second victory of the day by sweeping the No. 5 flight 6-0, 6-0. In the No. 6 flight,
Sarah Buck (Hughesville, Pa./Hughesville) would win 6-1, 6-0. McDonald dominated the No. 4 flight, winning 6-0, 6-0.Â
Nakonechna played in the No. 2 flight and won 6-1, 6-0. In the No. 3 flight,
Nicole Ilkovic (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy High School) won 6-0, 6-2. Finally, in the top flight, Seele took the victory to secure 6-3, 6-3, securing the match sweep.
The Huskies' next bout will be at home to host the Dynamic Duo Tournament on October 18.
