BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Bloomsburg baseball team took down Lock Haven, 10-5, in its home opener at Danny Litwhiler Field on Tuesday afternoon. The non-conference victory advances Bloomsburg's record to 5-6 while Lock Haven falls to 10-6.

Bloomsburg recorded a season-high 15 hits and no errors in the contest while holding Lock Haven to just three hits and two errors.

Five Huskies tallied multiple hits on the day, including
Greg Cristino (Haddonfield, N.J./Haddonfield Memorial) who led the maroon and gold with three hits.
Brady Ebbert (Etters, Pa./Red Land) went 2-for-5 on the day with three runs and three RBIs, highlighted by a first-inning home run.

Jacob Reifer (Bloomsburg, Pa./Central Columbia Area) notched a pair of doubles while driving in three runs in the contest.
Ben Jones (Fallschurch, Va./George C. Marshall) and
Josh Wilson (Clinton, Md./Bishop McNamara) each posted two hits as well.

After Bloomsburg went three up, three down to start the game, the Huskies went on the offensive with Ebbert launching a solo home run to right center.

The two sides kept each other off the scoreboard for the next few frames, until a sacrifice fly from the Bald Eagles leveled the score at 1-1.

Bloomsburg responded quickly in the bottom of the fourth as
Eli Riley (Harrisburg, Pa./Mercersburg Academy),
Jeremy Cawley (Duryea, Pa./Pittston Area) and
Corey Daniels (Forest City, Pa./Forest City) recorded back-to-back-to-back singles to load the bases. A wild pitch advanced the runners and scored Riley to put the Huskies back ahead. Ebbert picked up his second RBI of the day on an error by the second baseman, scoring Cawley on the play. A bases-clearing double from Cristino put the Bloomsburg up 5-1.

A pair of bases-loaded walks in the top of the fifth pulled Lock Haven within two runs of the lead.

Wilson led off the bottom of the fifth with a double to left field before a double from Reifer down the left field line scored Wilson to advance the lead to 6-3. Later in the frame, Ebbert drew a walk with the bases loaded to put the Huskies ahead 7-3.

The Bald Eagles cut into the lead in the fifth with back-to-back runs.

Bloomsburg brought its lead back up to three runs in the sixth as Cawley drew a walk to score Jones with the bases loaded.

The Huskies tacked on a pair of insurance runs in the fifth as Reifer powered a two-RBI double to right field and score Cristino and Ebbert.

Bloomsburg spends little time away from Danny Litwhiler Field as they host IUP on Thursday, March 13 at 3 p.m.
