BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Bloomsburg baseball team set a season-high in runs in a 19-12 victory over Clarion in a non-conference matchup at Danny Litwhiler on Wednesday afternoon. The Huskies move to 8-9 on the season while Clarion falls to 6-8.

Bloomsburg's 19 runs are the most in non-conference game for the Huskies since its 21-0 win over Jefferson in 2016, known then as Philadelphia University.

Eleven different members of the tallied hits in the contest, with five players recording multiple hits.
Corey Daniels (Forest City, Pa./Forest City) led the team with three hits, four RBIs and three runs highlighted by a three-run home run in the sixth inning.
Greg Cristino (Haddonfield, N.J./Haddonfield Memorial),
Josh Wilson (Clinton, Md./Bishop McNamara),
Nathan Kress (Lansdale, Pa./La Salle College H.S.) and
Drew Balestrini (Sunbury, Pa./Shikellamy) each notched two hits on the day.

The Huskies fell behind in the top of the first on an RBI-groundout to the pitcher.

Brady Ebbert (Etters, Pa./Red Land) knocked a double into center field in his first at bat before back-to-back wild pitches brought him home to tie the game.

The Huskies tacked on three more runs in the bottom of the second saw on two wild pitches and a balk. Freshman
Casey O'Brien (Moosic, Pa./Riverside) made it 6-1 for the Huskies in the third on a two RBI-single up the middle to score Balestrini and
Jacob Reifer (Bloomsburg, Pa./Central Columbia Area). O'Brien completed his trip around the bases after being brought in by Daniels to advance the lead to 7-1.

Reifer recorded his third homer of the season in the fourth, sending a two-run shot over the left field wall to make it 9-1 in favor of the Huskies.

The bottom of the sixth saw the Bloomsburg offense come alive yet again, tallying six runs. Balestrini got the scoring started in the frame with a sacrifice fly to score Wilson. Kress recorded his first career hit on an RBI-double to center field to score Reifer. Kress and O'Brien were then brought home on a three-run home run to center field to make it 14-1. A sacrifice fly from
Mike Miller (Lafayette Hill, Pa./Plymouth Whitemarsh) allowed Ebbert to score the 15th run of the game.

Clarion picked up some momentum in the seventh with five runs to make it 15-6 before adding another in the eighth.

Bloomsburg responded in the bottom of the eighth with four runs on four hits and an error from Clarion.

The Golden Eagles battled late as back-to-back RBI-singles set up a three-run home run for the visitors to move the score to 19-12. The Huskies managed to close out the game on a pair of strikeouts.

Brandon Wozniak (Nanticoke, Pa./Nanticoke Area) secured hist first win as a Husky, allowing just one run with five strikeouts across six innings pitched. Overall, the Huskies' bullpen posted a combined 10 strikeouts.
