TRENTON, N.J. - Junior
William Morrow (Harleysville, Pa./North Penn) went 1-1 on the day as the Bloomsburg wrestling team is 13th after the first day of competition at the 2025 Mid-American Conference Wrestling Tournament.
Morrow opened the tournament in the 157 pound bracket against Colton Washleski from Rider, Washkeski earned a 14-4 major decision win to send Morrow to the consolation bracket. Morrow had bye into the second round. Morrow won by forfeit over Carson Miller from Kent State to earn a spot in the consolation quarterfinals.
Kolby Flank (Easton, Pa./Wilson Area) ended the day strong at 184 pounds but took two loses on the day to finish out the championships Friday night. After a tech fall to Colin Fegley in the opening round. After a bye to the second round, Flank went toe-to-toe with Deron Pulliam of SIU Edwardsville but fell by decision 10-3.
Tyler McCatharn (Washington, N.J./Warren Hills) fell to Gavin Hoffman by a pin at 4:35 in the opening round but rebounded for a tough match against Aden Roe from Edinboro in the consolation second round. McCatharn dropped an 8-0 major decision to Roe to end the day.
Morrow opens Saturday's competition against Ryan Burgos of Edinboro in the consolation quarterfinals. Matches get underway from Cure Insurance Arena at 11:30 a.m. Morrow and Burgos did not face off during the regular season.
