Game One – Shepherd 11, Bloomsburg 6
Â
Shepherd (25-25, 12-16) gained the lead early in game one as Aiden Greaney sent a two-run home run over the left field fence in the first inning. Another two-run shot by the Rams in the fourth extended the advantage to 4-0.
Â
Corey Daniels (Forest City, Pa./Forest City) broke up a no-hitter in the bottom of the fourth, winning an eight pitch at-bat by blasting a solo shot over the left field fence.
Â
Shepherd went up ahead 8-1 in the top of the fifth with a four-run inning before the Huskies responded in the bottom of the frame. Wilson led off the bottom of the fifth with a solo home run to straight-away center field. After
Jacob Reifer (Bloomsburg, Pa./Central Columbia Area) singled to the shortstop,
Brady Ebbert (Etters, Pa./Red Land) sent an RBI-double to left center. Trommer then brought Ebbert home on an RBI-double of his own.
Â
After a lengthy rain delay, Daniels continued the scoring with an RBI-single through the right side to make it 8-5.
Â
The Rams tacked on three runs in the seventh to make it 11-5. A sacrifice fly from Daniels in the bottom of the frame was not enough to spark a comeback as the maroon and gold fell 11-6.
Â
Brandon Wozniak (Nanticoke, Pa./Nanticoke Area) was pinned with the game one loss, allowing five earned runs and seven hits while striking out six in five innings pitched.
Matthew Marsten (Quakertown, Pa./Quakertown) pitched two innings of relief, recording four strikeouts while allowing two earned runs.
Â
Game Two – Shepherd 11, Bloomsburg 7
Â
Greaney got the Rams on the board first in game two with an RBI-double to left center.
Â
The Huskies responded in the bottom of the first as Miller lined a two-RBI double down the left field line to score Daniels and Trommer. The second inning saw the Huskies tack on three runs on two singles and a bases-loaded hit by pitch, giving Bloomsburg a 5-1 lead.
Â
Shepherd scored eight unanswered runs across the next four innings to take a 9-5 lead.
Â
Miller posted his eighth home run of the season in the bottom of the sixth before Reifer drove in
Greg Cristino (Haddonfield, N.J./Haddonfield Memorial) to pull the Huskies within two.
Â
A two-run home run from Wyatt Miles in the seventh added a pair of insurance runs as the Rams held on for an 11-7 victory.
Â
Brock Hammaker (Lancaster, Pa./Donegal) went 3.1 innings in the start, striking out five while allowing three runs and seven hits.
Riley Powers (Vidalia, Ga./Vidalia) was credited with the loss, striking out three while allowing five runs in 1.2 innings.
Â
The Huskies end the 2025 season sixth in the PSAC East with a 21-28 record and a 10-18 record in conference play. Bloomsburg finished the regular season first in home runs with 49 and have hit at least 40 home runs in the each of the nine full seasons.
