BLOOMSBURG, Pa. - The Bloomsburg volleyball team ran away with a victory in straight sets at Nelson Field House on Friday over Lackawanna.

The Huskies controlled the match from the first whistle and, despite a less-than-ideal start to the second set against the Falcons, emerged with a resounding win. Bloomsburg held Lackawanna to 17 kills in the three sets while forcing 13 attack errors for a .051 hitting percentage.

Katie Kuehl (Aston, Pa./Archmere Academy (Del.)) finished with a match-high 12 kills on Friday, adding a career-high five service aces to her final stat line.
Lena Jones (Middletown, Pa./Middletown Area) (8 kills) and
Sasha Moody (Abington, PA/Abington Senior) (7 kills) complemented the Huskies' attacking efforts. In total, eight different players for Bloomsburg registered multiple kills in the victory.

How It Happened:
Bloomsburg made its presence felt early in the match with a 6-0 run to take a 7-3 lead in the early portion of the first set. Jones capped off the stretch with back-to-back kills, as the Huskies would go on to extend their lead in the opening frame. That advantage grew to as much as 11, with Bloomsburg sitting on set point at 24-13. The Falcons fended off the inevitable for four consecutive points before Kuehl slammed the door with a set-closing kill.

Lackawanna found a rhythm in the second set, testing the Huskies' resilience. The Falcons held a three-point lead several times, last coming at 12-9. A 7-1 stretch, helped by the attacking efforts of Kuehl on the tail end, allowed Bloomsburg to take the lead at 16-13. Lackawanna would pull within one, but a strong service run that produced three aces from Kuehl pushed the Huskies' advantage to seven. The sequence allowed for Jones and Moody to round out the second set with back-to-back kills and put Bloomsburg in the driver's seat.

The Huskies wanted to put an end to the night, and it showed with a 5-0 run to open the third frame. Jones, Kuehl, and Moody combined for four of the team's five points in the opening stretch. The momentum was a precursor to a strong offensive showing for Bloomsburg to end the night, with 18 of the team's 25 points finishing with a kill. The Huskies' emphatic third-set display allowed several players to get involved, with
Addison Arms (Natorna Heights, Pa./Highland),
Sicilia Clement (Perkiomenville, Pa./Academy of Notre Dame De Namur), and
Alynna Haggadone (Broomfield, Colo./Legacy) all recording multiple kills in the final frame. Leading by over 10 points in the third set, Arms put the finishing touches on a commanding display from Bloomsburg in front of its home fans.
