MILLERVILLE, Pa. - The Bloomsburg women's soccer team season came to an end despite a valiant effort in a 3-2 defeat on the road to Millersville in the opening round of the PSAC Tournament on Saturday.

After going down 2-0 in the first half, the Huskies (9-8-1) rallied to tie the match at 2-2 with just over 11 minutes left on the clock.
Cassi Snyder (Hegins, Pa./Tri-Valley) got Bloomsburg on the board with a long shot in the 57th minute before
Katie Reynolds (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) netted the equalizer. With both sides battling to the end, it was the Marauders (11-4-3) that found the game-winner in the 87th minute to advance to the next round of the PSAC Tournament.

How It Happened:
The game started back and forth with both teams trying to maneuver past the opposition. Millersville made the first move in the match, finding the opening goal inside 10 minutes after a ball played from the Marauders' own half directed the team's leading goal scorer, Aubrey Strohecker, in on net for the lead.

With the Huskies still reeling and on the back foot, Millersville capitalized to double its advantage. The Marauders kept the pressure in Bloomsburg's half, winning the ball in the midfield and immediately going on the counterattack. With numbers forward, Marauders began their attack along the right wing before one pass inside and another across the face of the goal to find the open player and double their lead.

The Huskies' attempts to cut into their two-goal deficit before the end of the half came up empty. Millersville finished the first 45 minutes with a 7-5 advantage in shots.

Needing a spark, Bloomsburg started the second half on an aggressive note that took Millersville aback. The Huskies' determination and confidence only grew; they created an opening to climb back into the contest. Bloomsburg shifted from defense to offense after quelling a Marauders attack. Bloomsburg quickly shifted its intentions up the pitch, leading to a pass down the left wing for
Anika Krasnai (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township). The senior put a ball toward the middle of the field and along the outside of the box. Bolting to the ball, Snyder was the first and only player to lay claim to the pass, as the sophomore hammered a shot from 20 yards out off the underside of the crossbar and over the goal line to reignite her team's hopes.

Those hopes did not fade in the build-up to the team's eventual second goal, as the Huskies were fervently pressing Millersville at every opportunity. With the hosts reeling, the Huskies took several chances before finding the right connection for the equalizer. After regaining possession on their end, Bloomsburg once again sought to spring a counter working down the left side. The pass, originally intended for
Niamh Fanning (New Freedom, Pa./Susquehannock), was won by a defender, but an awkward touch allowed the midfielder to recover and lay a quick pass off to Reynolds. The sophomore's right-footed effort was curled from the far-left side of the 18-yard box and swung into the top-right corner to make it a 2-2 game.

With the game now tied, the threat of added time reawakened the Marauders into a frenetic attacking pace. The Huskies fended off numerous advances from Millersville to pull back out in front as time continued to tick off the clock. With less than three minutes remaining, the Marauders found a through-ball pass to a cutting player from the left wing to break the deadlock. After being given 45 minutes to find two goals, the time crunch in front of Bloomsburg did not provide the team the chance to rally from behind before the sound of the final whistle.
